FOT relevant presentations here available!

At the yearly ICTCT conference, “Towards and beyond the 2010 road safety targets — identifying the stubborn issues and their solutions”, a special session was devoted to the definition of incidents. FOTs struggle with finding a good operational definition. If a FOT wants to analyse what happens when an incident takes place, it needs to know where to look in the huge data stream recorded continuously. This was an open question on which no conclusive answer was found during the FOT-Net seminar on data management. In the ICTCT special session four speakers addressed this question, looking at it from different angles, using different methods ranging from observation to automatic detection. Examples were given from different studies, such as EuroFOT and SeMiFOT. Although no definitive answers were given, the presentations and ensuing discussion presented directions on how to come to solutions.
