Results from Collision Avoidance System Trials in NL Creation date: 22 October 2009 The Netherlands have conducted a large-scale operational test for several collision avoidance systems for trucks. The objectives of these systems are to reduce the number of accidents with trucks, to gain insight in their effect on traffic flows and to test their effectiveness. For eight months, 2,400 lorries with different systems were monitored and all the data were recorded in the recording system. The five systems which were tested are aimed at limiting accidents. In addition, a separate registration system was tested.
